I have my heart set on creating a little play kitchen for Jax in his playroom with adorable wooden food and a DIY kitchen set (my inspiration above is made by Melissa & Doug.) I think it would be a super fun project to take a piece of old furniture and convert it with paint and a little creativity. I loved my play kitchen as a child and I think Jax would too! He will be at the age where kids start playing pretend soon.
But, can toy kitchens be for boys? My husband’s initial reaction was no (and he is an amazing cook!) I say, why not!
What do you think?
Absolutely! I dug toy kitchens (and cooking) when I was a kid, my son likes them, and heck, lots of chefs are guys. Go for it!
I say go for it, sounds like a fun project and I’m sure Jax would love it!
You could always “boy it up” if theres a lot of resistance from the hubby. Make it more “Grill” or “bbq” llike.
Totally! My son loves toy kitchens, and I like encouraging him to ‘learn to cook’! He is now 4 and still plays with ours, and with all the ones at his girl friends houses. I think toy kitchens are one of the best toys for boys and girls!
Of course it´s allright!
My daughter loved to play with cars, bolls and building things. They are going to be adults and cook, driving and so on.
